Argo Tea is a cafe specializing in proprietary specialty and traditional tea beverages. This was the company’s first venture into a “tea-osk” model and stand-alone café in a hospital lobby.
The Tea-osk had to include all the equipment and supporting storage that a full-scale cafe uses in a very small 8-foot radius footprint. To accomplish this, an extremely accurate 3D model was built (including equipment, cups, and utensils), to ensure an exact fit and economy of space.
The form of the Tea-osk is inspired by tealeaf shapes (creating the circular plan), and by the Mono Filio teapot, an exclusive retail item that Argo Tea sells and displays tea in.
The truncated sphere shape creates an outer ring/shelf for registers, condiment bar, and stand-up drink ledge.
Tealeaf-shaped upper cabinets were designed for needed storage. These storage compartments are on automated lifts so items are within reach and to avoid the need for stepstools.
Graphics were layered into the model throughout the design process to ensure the Tea-osk markets the brand.
